Henry VIII and the Men who Made Him
10th October 2018 @ 6:00 pm£9
As part of the 2018 Off the Shelf festival, 500 Reformations is pleased to support this evening event highlighting new work from historian and author Tracy Borman:
Historian Tracy Borman takes us behind the scenes of Henry VIII’s court. Henry VIII is well known for his tumultuous relationships with women and his many marriages. But when we see Henry through the men in his life, a new perspective on this famous king emerges. This fascinating and often surprising new biography reveals Henry’s personality in all its multi-faceted, contradictory glory and reveals the secret history behind the Tudor throne.
About the speaker:
Tracy Borman studied and taught history at the University of Hull and was awarded a PHD in 1997. She went on to a successful career in heritage and has worked for the Heritage Lottery Fund, The National Archives and English Heritage. She is now Chief Executive of the Heritage Education Trust and joint Chief Curator for Historic Royal Palaces, the charity that manages Hampton Court Palace, the Tower of London, Kensington Palace, Kew Palace, the Banqueting House, Whitehall and Hillsborough Castle.
